Water Safety Rules – Stay Safe, Paddle Smart

If you're planning to go paddleboarding, it's essential to follow proper safety rules to keep yourself and others safe. At Pirate Bay Paddle, we prioritize your well-being with clearly defined paddleboarding safety rules designed for our unique waterways.

Paddle Boarding Safety Rules:

  • Life jackets are required for all paddlers.

  • Be alert on the water — always watch for boats, jet skis, and other watercraft.

  • Use gear responsibly. Know how to paddle, balance, and care for your board before launching.

  • Stay within approved paddling zones. Do not enter the channel.

  • Plan your paddle. Know your launch spot, your route, and when you'll return.

  • No alcohol or drugs before or during your paddle session. Safety comes first.

  • Do not paddle intoxicated. Impairment puts everyone at risk.

  • Be cautious of the shoreline. There may be sharp shells or glass in the sand — wear footwear if needed.

  • Stay to the sides of the channel. Avoid the center and main boat lanes at all times.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone acting unsafely or disrespectfully.

Safety is our top priority at Pirate Bay Paddle. Before launching, take a few moments to stretch and warm up your body—especially your shoulders, back, and legs. Staying limber helps with balance and reduces the risk of strain or injury on the board. Always let someone know your paddle route and expected return time. If you're ever unsure about conditions or your ability, it's always best to wait it out or paddle with a buddy for extra support.
